Budgets in Float are like place holders for cash that might come out. Where the core lies is in pulling in all the transactions, bills and invoices in from your accounting platform, so your cash flow is always up-to-date. If you do this in a spreadsheet you won't have visibility on what your cash is likely to do.
With Float you'll be able to get a good handle on where your cash is likely to be, and compare the actual cash in and invoices due against the placeholder budget.
